Christmas Week 2015!

Working up to a busy Christmas week and the shop will be filled with flowers that will become our hand-tied bouquets, arrangements and gifts for the big day. It’s always a bit of a rush at this time with all our customers needing their flowers at the last minute so that they can be displayed at the peak of freshness. A trip to the wholesalers is a festive feast at the moment and we have a choice of some wonderful exotic blooms and foliage to tempt us. A special favourite are the cut hippeastrum (or amaryllis as most of us know them) difficult to arrange but very special Christmas flowers. It’s also a chance to use some of the glittery “bling” that would not normally sit well with fresh flowers, so glitter twigs and gold painted foliage finds a place with red, green and gold to provide a visual celebration of the festive season.

We shall be closing the shop for a few days between Christmas and New Year, so a well deserved rest is in sight. Until then it’s back to work, preparing our customer’s orders.

Here’s hoping you have a very Merry Christmas from all at Broken Blossom!
